Google Calendar integration
Connect Google Calendar so bookings sync and your busy times are respected.
Connecting Google Calendar makes your booking workflow automatic. When someone books a meeting with you, cntct.space checks your calendar for conflicts before offering slots, and writes the confirmed booking straight onto your calendar. No double-bookings, no copying appointments by hand.
It's a two-way link: your existing events block out availability so people can't book over them, and every booking made through your space appears on your calendar with the guest added as an attendee.
Available on Pro and Business. The integration shares the same entitlement as booking, so any plan with appointments can connect a calendar.
Connecting your calendar
- Go to Integrations in your dashboard.
- Find the Google Calendar card and click Connect.
- Sign in to Google and pick the account whose calendar you want to use.
- On the consent screen, approve access to your calendar events and free/busy information.
- You'll land back on the Integrations page with a Google Calendar connected confirmation showing the account email.
cntct.space always syncs with your primary Google Calendar — the default calendar on the account you connect. Connect the account whose calendar holds the appointments you want respected.
What happens after you connect
- Busy times block availability. When a visitor opens your booking page, cntct.space reads your Google free/busy data for that window and hides any slot that overlaps an existing event — alongside your own working hours and any time you've manually blocked.
- Bookings are added to your calendar. Each confirmed booking creates an event on your primary calendar with the meeting name, the guest's note, the location, and the guest added as an attendee.
- Reschedules follow. If a booking is moved, the matching calendar event's start and end times are updated automatically.
- Cancellations clean up. Cancelling a booking — by you or the guest — removes the event from your calendar.
Calendar sync is best-effort. If Google is briefly unreachable when a booking is made, the booking itself still succeeds — it just won't have a calendar event attached. The booking is always the source of truth.
Disconnecting
You stay in control of access. Disconnecting stops all calendar reads and writes immediately and revokes cntct.space's access on Google's side.
- Go to Integrations.
- On the Google Calendar card, click Disconnect and confirm.
- Your stored tokens are deleted and access is revoked with Google.
After disconnecting, your booking page stops checking Google for conflicts and new bookings are no longer written to your calendar. Existing calendar events from past bookings stay where they are. Reconnect any time to restore sync.
Privacy and security
- cntct.space requests only calendar event and free/busy access plus your account email — nothing else from your Google account.
- Your access and refresh tokens are encrypted before they're stored, and refreshed automatically so you don't have to reconnect.
- Booking calendar invites are created without sending Google's own notification emails — cntct.space sends your booking confirmations so guests get a single, branded email.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Don't see the Integrations page | Integrations require Pro or Business. Free and Basic plans don't include booking or calendar sync — see plans. |
| Connect sent me to the pricing page | Your plan doesn't include booking. Upgrade to Pro or Business and try again. |
| "Could not connect — please try again" | The sign-in was interrupted or timed out. Start the connect flow again from Integrations and complete it within a few minutes. |
| Slots show even though I'm busy in Google | Confirm the booked appointment is on the primary calendar of the connected account. Events on secondary calendars aren't read. |
| Bookings aren't appearing on my calendar | Open Integrations and confirm the card still shows Connected as your email. If sync stopped working, click Disconnect, then Connect again to re-grant access. |
Frequently asked
Do I need a paid plan to connect Google Calendar?
Yes. Calendar integration is part of booking, which is available on Pro and Business. Free and Basic plans can't connect a calendar.
Does it stop people from double-booking me?
Yes. When someone opens your booking page, cntct.space reads your Google free/busy data and hides any slot that overlaps an existing event, so visitors can only book times you're actually free.
Which calendar does it use?
Your primary Google Calendar on the account you connect. Events on other (secondary) calendars aren't read for conflicts, and new bookings are written to the primary calendar.
Will my guests get a Google invite too?
Guests are added as attendees on the calendar event, but cntct.space suppresses Google's own invitation emails and sends your booking confirmation instead, so they receive one clear message.
What happens to my calendar if I disconnect?
Disconnecting revokes access and deletes your stored tokens. New bookings stop syncing and your page stops checking Google for conflicts, but events already created from past bookings stay on your calendar.
Do I have to reconnect periodically?
No. Access is refreshed automatically behind the scenes. You'd only reconnect if you disconnected, changed your Google password in a way that revokes access, or removed cntct.space from your Google account settings.
