Your slug & publishing

Choose your URL, publish your space and control its visibility.

Every space lives at a public URL in the shape cntct.space/<your-slug>. The slug is the part after the slash, and it's yours to choose. Until you publish, that URL shows nothing to visitors — your space stays a private draft you can edit freely.

This guide covers picking a slug, publishing and unpublishing, what visitors actually see, what happens when you change your slug later, and how many spaces your plan allows.

Setting your slug

Open a space in the builder. The Space URL field at the top shows cntct.space/ followed by an input where you type your slug.

  1. Go to your dashboard and open the space you want to edit.
  2. In the Space URL field, type the slug you want — for example jane-makes.
  3. Click Save changes. If the slug is free, it's saved and your public link updates immediately.

Slug rules

  • Allowed characters: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Anything else you type (spaces, uppercase, punctuation, accents) is automatically converted — uppercase is lowercased and other characters become hyphens.
  • Length: up to 50 characters. Longer entries are trimmed to 50 when saved.
  • No leading or trailing hyphens — they're stripped automatically.
  • Globally unique: a slug can only belong to one space across all of cntct.space. If someone already has it, you'll see *“That URL is already taken — choose another.”*
  • Leave it blank to have one generated from your space name instead.

Pick something short and memorable. The slug is what people type, share, and see on your QR code and share links — a clean handle reads better everywhere.

Publishing your space

New spaces start as drafts — they exist only for you in the builder and the public URL returns a *Not found* page to anyone who visits. Publishing flips that on.

  1. Open the space in the builder.
  2. In the action bar at the bottom, tick the Published checkbox.
  3. Click Save changes.

Your space is now live at cntct.space/<your-slug>. To take it offline again, untick Published and save — the public URL goes back to showing *Not found* while you keep editing.

Public pages are cached and refresh roughly every minute, so a publish, unpublish, or content change can take up to about a minute to appear for visitors.

What visitors see

A published space renders your blocks in order on a single mobile-friendly page styled by your theme. Blocks you've scheduled to go live later are hidden until their start time. Views and link clicks are counted for analytics.

Unless your plan removes branding, a small made with cntct.space footer appears at the bottom of the page.

Visibility & search engines

Publishing makes a space reachable by anyone with the link. By default a published space is also indexable by search engines like Google. If you'd rather keep it link-only, use Hide from search.

  1. In the builder's action bar, tick Hide from search.
  2. Click Save changes.

With Hide from search on, the page still works for anyone you give the link to — it just asks search engines not to index it. There's no password or per-visitor access control: a published space is public to anyone who has the URL.

Changing your slug later

You can change a slug at any time — just edit the Space URL field and save. But the new slug fully replaces the old one.

Old links break. There's no redirect from your previous slug. After you change it, cntct.space/<old-slug> returns *Not found*, and any QR codes, printed cards, or links pointing at the old URL stop working. Only change a slug you've already shared if you're ready to reshare the new link.

How many spaces you can have

Your plan caps the total number of spaces you can create. The limit is on how many spaces exist on your account — not on how many are published.

Frequently asked

What does my public URL look like?

It's cntct.space/<your-slug>, where the slug is whatever you set in the Space URL field. There's no custom-domain option — every space lives under cntct.space.

Why does my space link show “Not found”?

The space isn't published. New spaces start as drafts. Open it in the builder, tick Published in the action bar, and click Save changes. Note it can take up to about a minute for the live page to update.

Can two people have the same slug?

No. Slugs are unique across all of cntct.space, so the first person to claim a slug keeps it. If you try to save a slug that's taken, you'll see *“That URL is already taken — choose another.”*

Will my old link still work if I change my slug?

No. Changing a slug replaces the old one with no redirect, so cntct.space/<old-slug> will return *Not found*. Any shared links and QR codes pointing at the old slug will stop working — reshare the new URL.

How do I take my space offline without deleting it?

Open it in the builder, untick Published, and save. The space drops back to a private draft you can keep editing, and the public URL returns *Not found* until you publish again.

How do I keep a page off Google?

Tick Hide from search in the builder's action bar and save. The page stays reachable by direct link but asks search engines not to index it. It does not add a password — anyone with the URL can still view it.
